Li Tzu-tung Hosts Workshops in Nordic Countries, Exploring Violence and Healing

According to CNA reporter Ku Yung-li (Stockholm), Taiwanese artist Li Tzu-tung, who recently completed an artist residency in Sweden, is hosting a workshop in Finland today. Through her solo exhibition 'Mercy and Vengeance in the Bardo' and workshops, she explores the impact of bodily injustice and post-human warfare on contemporary individuals, while showing care for survivors of the MeToo movement. Li was in residence at the Skövde Konstmuseet from April 10 to May 24. She noted that violence is becoming increasingly 'precise' and 'remote,' such as drone strikes. She defines 'bodily injustice' not as a single physical injury, but as a continuous structure of deprivation, such as the burden of self-proof faced by sexual violence survivors in judicial processes. Borrowing the Tibetan Buddhist concept of 'Bardo,' she describes the state of those trapped between victimhood and survival. Li will continue her work in Helsinki at the invitation of M-Cult and the Bioart Society.
