Man Breaks into Taichung City Government Office with Baseball Bat, Arrested by Police

Central News Agency (Taichung, May 28) A man broke into the Joint Service Center on the first floor of the Taichung City Government's Wenxin Building on the afternoon of the 28th, using a baseball bat to smash computers and other equipment at the counter. The city government stated that the man was subdued by police and taken in for investigation to clarify his motives. The incident occurred at 3:35 PM, causing staff and citizens to flee. Several acrylic panels, computer monitors, and printers were damaged, but fortunately, no one was injured. The Taichung City Police Department stated that they arrived quickly, subdued the man, and notified his family, the fire department, and the health bureau for assistance. The city government has since strengthened patrols at all entrances and exits to ensure safety.
