US and Iran Near Ceasefire Deal; Trump Has Yet to Sign

US officials stated on the 28th that the US and Iran are nearing a framework agreement to extend the ceasefire for 60 days, though President Trump has not yet approved any deal. US sources told AFP that both sides have reached a memorandum of understanding (MOU), but Vice President JD Vance noted that it is hard to say exactly when or if the President will sign it. Vance, who plays a key role in the negotiations, said Iran has been negotiating in good faith and both sides want to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. However, differences remain regarding Iran's enriched uranium stockpile. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added that Trump will not accept a 'bad deal' and will fight for a very good agreement for the American people.
