MAC: I-Kuan Tao is labeled a cult in China; TAO should not deny it

According to CNA, MAC Deputy Minister and spokesperson Liang Wen-chieh stated on the 28th that, based on the 'China Anti-Cult Network,' I-Kuan Tao is classified as an illegal organization and a cult. He argued that the Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) of China should not deny this fact. He urged Taiwanese followers to avoid traveling to China. SEF Secretary-General Luo Wen-jia revealed on the 22nd that three followers were detained in Fujian and Guangdong in May for unknown reasons. While TAO spokesperson Chen Binhua claimed there is no need for concern if one does not engage in illegal activities, Liang criticized this as an attempt to create a 'chilling effect.'
