Prosecutors stated that in the days leading up to Perry's death in his hot tub in 2023, Iwamasa injected him with ketamine over 25 times, including at least three times on the day he died. Court documents indicate that on the day of his death, Perry told Iwamasa, who lived in his Los Angeles mansion, to 'shoot me up with a big one.' Perry's mother expressed that the family had trusted Iwamasa deeply. The defense argued that Iwamasa was merely a hired helper who could not say no to his wealthy employer.
