Chinese airlines will reduce fuel surcharges for domestic flights starting from tickets issued on June 5, with a reduction of about 10%. For routes over 800km, the surcharge will be 150 yuan (approx. 700 TWD), and for routes under 800km, it will be 80 yuan. Previously, surcharges were significantly increased in April and May; this is the first reduction this year. Aviation fuel is a major operating cost for airlines, accounting for over 30%, and surcharges are adjusted in line with fuel price fluctuations.
