Executive Yuan Secretary-General Chang Tun-han led three nominees for the Central Election Commission (CEC) to visit the Kuomintang (KMT) legislative caucus today. Lin Pei-hsiang, secretary of the KMT caucus, stated that regarding the CEC personnel review, they would strictly adhere to the principles of substantive review and rigorous oversight. He promised that as long as the candidates are truly excellent, professional, and maintain neutrality, the KMT caucus will fully support them. On March 13, the Legislative Yuan passed the personnel case for CEC Chairperson You Ying-lung and three others, while three nominees for deputy chairperson were rejected. On April 21, the Executive Yuan appointed You and the others, and nominated Shen Shu-fei, Tsai Wei-che, and Huang Mou-hsin to fill the vacancies. Chang Tun-han urged the ruling and opposition parties to conduct the review rationally to ensure the smooth operation of the CEC.
