The simple water supply project for neighborhoods 1-3 and 7-9 in Beigang Village and neighborhoods 1-4 in Changfu Village, Guoxing Township, Nantou County, has been completed, resolving water issues for approximately 400 households in the remote area. Guoxing Township Mayor Chiu Mei-ling expressed hope for continued central government support to improve water facilities in remote areas. Nantou Deputy County Magistrate Wang Rui-te, Mayor Chiu, and representatives from the Water Resources Agency attended the ceremony. Wang noted that due to the large area of Nantou, extending tap water is difficult. The county government secured subsidies, with the township office covering 29% of the 43.25 million TWD total cost, providing clean water to 400 households. Mayor Chiu noted that initial applications were 170, but grew to 400, reflecting high demand. According to county data, Beigang Village received four 60-ton, two 30-ton, and one 10-ton stainless steel water tanks, benefiting 300 households, while Changfu Village received two 60-ton and two 30-ton tanks, improving water quality for 100 households.
