A 52-year-old man surnamed Wu in Tainan City was stopped by police early yesterday morning for traffic violations while driving under the influence of drugs. When he stepped out of the car for inspection, he was in a state of extreme agitation and trembling. Police discovered 'zombie vape cartridges' (containing etomidate) and a gun barrel in the vehicle. His urine test also showed positive results for drugs, and he was referred to the prosecutor's office after questioning. The Tainan City Police Department's Third Precinct told CNA today that Wu was driving on Anzhong Road in Annan District around 4:00 AM yesterday when he was stopped for crossing double yellow lines and failing to signal a right turn. When Wu exited the vehicle, he appeared abnormally agitated, his body was trembling, and there were suspected injection marks on his hands. Police seized the etomidate-laced vape cartridges and the gun barrel on the spot. Wu's urine tested positive for heroin and amphetamines, and he was referred to the prosecutor's office on charges of drug possession, firearms violations, and endangering public safety.
