Forestry Agency Launches Goldenseal Herbal Candy to Boost Income for Chiayi Farmers

The Chiayi Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, in line with the Ministry of Agriculture's 'under-forest economy' policy, has successfully guided farmers in the Caoshan community of Fanlu Township to cultivate Goldenseal. They have developed 'Linxia Liangpin' Goldenseal herbal candy, which will soon be available through various channels to increase farmer income. A launch event was held today, attended by Deputy Director-General Zhang Dai, Chiayi Branch Director Li Dingzhong, and Chiayi University President Lin Hankian. Weng Rongxian, chairman of the Caoshan Community Development Association, spoke about the challenges of cultivation and expressed gratitude for the agency's support. Director Li emphasized that the branch will assist in expanding sales channels to pharmacies, farmers' associations, and souvenir shops, ensuring the farmers' efforts are well-rewarded. This initiative marks a milestone in developing a complete industrial chain from forest management to market sales.
