The Nuclear Safety Commission (NSC) held a "First Round Joint Review Meeting for the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant Restart Plan" today to explain the current status of the review. During the meeting, external review committee members and NSC staff discussed the progress of the restart plan, and Taipower responded to concerns raised by the committee. The NSC stated that as the regulatory authority for nuclear safety, it will strictly review the restart plan and related documents, with information to be published on its official website under the "Nuclear Power Plant Restart Review and Control" section. The NSC confirmed the completeness of the application on April 8 and began substantive review. On May 26 and 27, committee members visited the plant to inspect the spent fuel pool and containment structures.
