Heavy rain in southern Hualien: Route 30 closed due to rockfalls

Hualien, May 29 (CNA) Due to strong convective clouds, heavy rain has persisted in southern Hualien. Two landslides occurred on the road toward Nan'an on Route 30. The Highway Bureau attempted emergency clearing, but due to continuous rain and sporadic rockfalls, the road is currently closed. Residents are advised to detour via the Zhuofu Bridge. The Yuli Township Office stated that this road serves as a vital link for the Zhuoqing tribe and others. Recovery equipment is on standby at the scene.
