The site selection for the New Taipei Dome is entering its final stages. Today, five Kuomintang councilors from the Tu-Shu-San-Ying district submitted 15,000 signatures to Mayor Hou Yu-ih, hoping to bring the dome to Shulin. The city government is currently evaluating two sites: the Shulin 'Ji-Wu' plot and the Danhai Phase II area. Councilors argued that Shulin's location at the intersection of major districts and its industrial base make it an ideal hub for international-level facilities. Mayor Hou responded that the decision is not made by one person but by experts and sports professionals. He stated that if everything goes smoothly, the site selection will be announced in July. He emphasized that the dome will serve as a development hub for New Taipei and the greater Northern Taiwan region.
