Despite topping the UN's World Happiness Report for nine consecutive years, Finnish cuisine remains largely absent from the global table. The Finnish Tourist Board has launched the 'Have Some Finnish' global selection project, offering winners a free trip to Finland in September to experience Michelin-starred cuisine across the coast, islands, and Lapland. The project began by asking local fishermen, farmers, and chefs about the taste of their region. Based on thousands of responses, two top chefs created official menus. Erik Mansikka, who earned a Michelin star in Turku, leads the coast and islands group, while Joel Manninen, a young culinary champion, leads the Lapland group. Heli Hemgård of Business Finland stated that while Italian, Japanese, and French cuisines are globally recognized, Finnish food remains a hidden secret. The campaign aims to showcase Finland's pure ingredients and rugged culinary logic. Interested participants can apply by submitting a video by June 9th.
