The controversy surrounding the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation continues to escalate. Today, the foundation filed criminal charges against former employees Xiao Xucen and Wang Guangci for breach of trust and embezzlement. The Shilin District Prosecutors Office confirmed that it received the criminal complaint and related evidence this morning and will complete the case assignment process today. The prosecutor's office stated it will handle the case according to the law and is expected to appoint a dedicated prosecutor to begin evidence collection under a preliminary case file. Meanwhile, Ma Ying-jeou's eldest sister, Ma Yi-nan, recently filed an application with the Taipei District Court for a 'guardianship/assistance declaration' citing Ma's health, which the court began reviewing last week. If granted, Ma would require her consent to initiate legal proceedings. The foundation issued a statement today, explaining that to protect its interests, public assets, and social trust, it has filed the complaint to seek judicial clarification. The foundation stated it would not comment on details as the case is now in the judicial process. Xiao Xucen responded by stating, 'I have lived my life with integrity and have not taken a single cent I shouldn't have. I have a clear conscience regarding former President Ma Ying-jeou, and I will let the judicial system prove my innocence.'
