Tesla China Sued by Car Owners Over 'Misleading' FSD Function

Ten Tesla owners in China have filed a lawsuit against Tesla China in the Beijing Daxing District People's Court, alleging false advertising and consumer fraud regarding the company's 'Full Self-Driving' (FSD) capability. The plaintiffs are seeking a total of approximately 3.95 million CNY (about 18.3 million TWD) in damages. The name of the FSD feature has changed three times in China, currently simplified to 'Tesla Assisted Driving.' The plaintiffs' lawyer argued that Tesla knowingly advertised 'Full Self-Driving' despite lacking regulatory approval and failing to deliver core features, thereby misleading consumers. Tesla responded that the FSD function is 'already realized or partially realized,' with further features still under development. Similar legal challenges regarding FSD marketing are also underway in the United States.
