Heavy Rain Alert for Pingtung Mountains; Caution Advised for Chiayi South and Yunlin-Nantou

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) stated that active convective cloud systems in the afternoon are likely to bring short-duration, heavy rainfall. Today, Pingtung County's mountainous areas may experience localized heavy rain or torrential rain, while areas south of Chiayi and the mountainous regions of Yunlin and Nantou have a high probability of localized heavy rain. The CWA reminds the public to be aware of lightning and strong gusts. In mountainous areas, caution is advised against landslides, rockfalls, and flash floods, while low-lying areas should be alert for potential flooding.
