The TSG Hawks of the Chinese Professional Baseball League defeated the Rakuten Monkeys 5-3 today, thanks to a triple by Tseng Tzu-Yu in the top of the 9th inning, securing their 4th consecutive win. They have tied the league's second-ranked Fubon Guardians in games behind, though they remain in 3rd place due to a lower winning percentage.

The TSG Hawks visited the Rakuten Monkeys' home field today. Starting pitcher Bradin Hagens allowed only one run in five innings, and the offense scored three runs in the top of the 4th inning to take the lead. However, the bullpen gave up runs in the 6th and 7th innings, bringing the game back to a tie.

In the top of the 9th, Rakuten sent in their closer, Chu Cheng-Yang. Hawks leadoff hitter Chi Ching-Jan hit an infield pop-up, and Chu interfered with first baseman Lin Chih-Ping's catch, resulting in an error charged to Chu. The Hawks then executed a sacrifice bunt to advance the runner to second. After two outs, Wang Po-Hsuan drew a walk, and Tseng Tzu-Yu smashed a triple, clearing the bases and driving in two runs, which became the key to victory.
