Taipei Zoo is currently housing various parrots rescued from smuggling or abandonment, including several endangered species. On World Parrot Day, the zoo organized a pop-up educational session featuring a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo to help visitors understand parrot behavior and discourage pet abandonment. The zoo participates in the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency's wildlife rescue program, caring for species from Asia, Africa, Australia, and Latin America. Endangered species such as the African Grey Parrot and the White Cockatoo are among those housed. According to the IUCN, one-third of parrot species face extinction threats. The zoo holds educational sessions every Sunday at 11:00 AM.
