According to the Central News Agency, the Chinese Professional Baseball League held a team leaders meeting on the 1st to discuss the impact of the one-year mandatory military service on player development. The league stated it will continue to discuss feasible plans with the Department of Alternative Service and other relevant units to establish an alternative service mechanism for baseball, allowing players with potential to continue professional training during their service. CPBL Commissioner Tsai Chi-chang suggested using draft results as a basis for talent identification, allowing drafted players to continue training during service. However, this is still in the preliminary concept stage. Furthermore, the meeting decided to abolish the '228 Foreign Player Clause,' no longer granting original teams priority negotiation rights, and instead setting January 15 as the final deadline for negotiations, after which players will be considered free agents.
