MediaTek Partners with NVIDIA to Launch RTX Spark, Entering Windows Market

IC design firm MediaTek announced on Sunday that it is partnering with NVIDIA to launch a new generation processor, 'RTX Spark.' The first laptops equipped with RTX Spark are expected to hit the market this fall. MediaTek stated that this collaboration combines its core capabilities in high-performance CPUs, advanced communications, and power efficiency with NVIDIA's full-stack AI platform and RTX technology. This enables thin, high-efficiency devices to perform advanced AI computing, content creation, and gaming. Vince Hu, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Data Center Business Group at MediaTek, stated that through RTX Spark, they are bringing on-device AI supercomputing capabilities to consumer PCs. MediaTek noted that it has been working closely with NVIDIA in several markets, including automotive platforms, data center AI infrastructure, and GB10 system-on-chips. The launch of RTX Spark further expands this cooperation. MediaTek, which has long focused on the entry-level consumer chip market, is now officially entering the Windows PC market as a technology supplier, showcasing its innovation capabilities.
