Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an stated today that to transform Taipei into an AI-driven smart city, the city government has concrete cooperation projects with NVIDIA, such as optimizing the Taipei Metro Wenhu Line and simulating passenger flow at major stations. Chiang mentioned that the city is working with NVIDIA's technical team to upgrade the Wenhu Line's vehicles and signaling systems by 2036. For major stations like Daan and Zhongxiao Fuxing, the city will use 'NVIDIA Omniverse' technology for high-end 3D modeling to simulate crowd evacuation and handle abnormal situations. Chiang emphasized the city's commitment to using AI to improve municipal services, noting that Taipei was the first in the nation to establish AI operational guidelines. He also expressed openness to collaborating with any team, not just NVIDIA. Regarding population policies, he welcomed the central government's new strategies and expressed willingness to share Taipei's experience.
