June Taiwan Stock Index Futures Rise by 720 Points

Central News Agency, Taipei, June 1. The Taipei stock market closed today with a gain of 604.97 points, ending at 45,337.91. The June Taiwan Index Futures closed at 46,035, up 720 points, representing a positive basis of 697.09 points compared to the spot market. The Taiwan Futures Exchange set the opening reference prices for the next two months of index futures contracts at 45,315 for June and 45,308 for July. The total trading value for the day was NT$1.477 trillion. The June futures saw a trading volume of 75,510 contracts, while the July futures saw 889 contracts. Final closing prices are subject to the official announcement by the Taiwan Futures Exchange.
