Central News Agency, Taipei, June 1. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang delivered a speech in Taipei today, reigniting interest in AI-related stocks. The Taiwan stock market opened higher and continued to climb, reaching 45,931.1 points during the session, setting a new record. Around 10:42 AM, the weighted index hit 45,623.96 points, up 1.99%, with a turnover of NT$878.97 billion. TSMC reached NT$2,415, up NT$60. Delta Electronics hit NT$2,520, up NT$75, before paring gains. Foxconn rose NT$15.5 to NT$304.5, and MediaTek surged up to NT$400 to reach NT$4,710. ODM and OEM groups including Wistron, Quanta, Compal, and Inventec all saw significant gains. Asus and Acer hit the daily limit. Panel stocks Innolux and HannStar hit the daily limit, while AUO rose over 5%. Memory stocks were also strong, with Nanya Technology hitting the daily limit. Silicon photonics stocks like Liang-Jyun also hit the daily limit.
