DPP May Nominate Chen Kuang-fu's Wife for Penghu Magistrate Race; Decision Expected Tomorrow

Regarding rumors that the DPP will recruit Wu Shu-chin, wife of Penghu Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu, to run in his place, DPP Secretary-General Hsu Kuo-yung stated that the election committee will meet tomorrow to make a decision. Chen's family posted on Facebook today, calling him a warrior on the front lines and asking for support. Chen returned to Penghu in 2001, was elected magistrate in 2014, and re-elected in 2022. However, on February 17 this year, he suffered a severe head injury after a fall during a performance and has been hospitalized for over three months. The family noted that Chen is currently facing complications from a bacterial infection but expressed gratitude to the medical team.
