The Taipei Department of Education announced today that the list of 10,000 winners for this year's expanded "Citizen Study Voucher" program was released on May 29. Participants can receive subsidies ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 TWD for courses at 12 community colleges in Taipei. Winners are urged to use their vouchers before the first phase deadline of July 17.
The Taipei Citizen Study Voucher program has been expanded, with the eligibility age lowered from 55 to 18, and the number of subsidized spots increased from 2,400 to 10,000.
The Department of Education reminds citizens who registered for the lottery that the winner list was announced on May 29, and notifications have been sent via SMS. Winners can check course information on the "Taipei Lifelong Learning Website," bring their ID to the school to register, and inform the school of their winner status to receive the tuition discount.
The Department of Education stated that the usage period for the first phase of winners is from June 1 to July 17. If the voucher is not used, winners must register their withdrawal on the website to avoid losing eligibility for registration next year. Subsequently, waitlisted winners will also be notified via SMS, with a usage period from July 20 to August 21.
The Department of Education added that among the 10,000 winners, the "Senior Citizen Group" (aged 55 and above) accounts for 7,000 spots (2,000 for new students, 5,000 for returning students), and the "General Citizen Group" (aged 18-54) accounts for 3,000 spots. New students receive a discount of 2,000 TWD, while returning students receive 1,000 TWD.
Additionally, low-income or middle-to-low-income citizens do not need to participate in the lottery and can receive a 3,000 TWD tuition discount upon online registration.
