Central News Agency reporter Wang Chao-yu, Yilan, June 2. Executive Yuan Minister Chen Chin-te led a team to Yilan University today to discuss enhancing research capabilities for unmanned vehicles. It was decided that the Ministry of Education will assist Yilan University in upgrading its existing drone master's program to an 'Unmanned Vehicle and Artificial Intelligence Institute' and establishing an 'Unmanned Vehicle R&D Laboratory.' Chen stated that President Lai Ching-te is strongly promoting the drone industry, positioning Taiwan as the 'Asian hub for the democratic drone supply chain.' The Executive Yuan is actively assisting the industry through integrated plans covering regulations, innovation, and manufacturing. Yilan is one of the few counties in Taiwan with both air and sea testing sites, and it can integrate with northern industries to form a complete supply chain.
