Worker Survives Electric Shock: Seamless Cooperation Between Fire Dept and Hospital

A man who suffered cardiac arrest after an electric shock while performing electrical work at a factory in Taichung was saved through the seamless cooperation of the fire department and the hospital. The Taichung Municipal Geriatric Rehabilitation Hospital held a press conference today to celebrate his recovery. The 58-year-old patient was working at a factory in Dali District when he was electrocuted and fell from a ladder, losing consciousness. The Taichung Fire Bureau immediately activated its dual-track emergency response, performing CPR and using an AED on-site to restore his heartbeat before transporting him to the hospital. Doctors warned that electric shocks can cause fatal arrhythmias in addition to skin burns. This successful rescue highlights the importance of seamless cooperation between emergency responders and hospital trauma teams.
