The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) announced today that it will provide funding to local governments to promote cycling safety education in elementary schools. Minister Chen Shih-kai stated that the goal is for every student to receive at least one safety course during their six years of elementary school. The MOTC hosted a Taiwan-Japan cycling safety forum, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed to foster cooperation in safety education. Minister Chen emphasized that the government is also improving cycling infrastructure, such as the Round-Island cycling routes, to ensure safer riding conditions for all.
