Following the crash of a T-34 trainer aircraft during a training mission that resulted in the deaths of two pilots, the Kuomintang (KMT) expressed deep condolences and extended its heartfelt sympathies to the families. The KMT stated that military personnel have long shouldered the heavy burden of combat training and the risks of defending the nation, and the public will always be grateful for their sacrifice. Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Sun Li-fang announced today that the T-34 trainer crashed at the Gangshan Air Base, killing two lieutenant colonel pilots. Air Force Commander Zheng Rong-feng rushed to the scene, and Defense Minister Wellington Koo ordered an investigation and support for the families. The KMT issued a statement urging the government to investigate the cause of the accident, review flight safety management, training procedures, and equipment maintenance, and ensure the safety of the military.
