(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 4) Former Hong Kong Legislative Council member Claudia Mo visited Chow Hang-tung, the former vice-chairperson of the Hong Kong Alliance who is currently in remand, on the eve of the Tiananmen Square anniversary on June 3. Mo described Chow as being full of smiles and said that Chow would begin a 37-hour hunger strike on June 4.

On June 3, Mo posted a photo and a message on her Facebook page. The photo was taken outside the Tai Lam Centre for Women. In her post, Mo said, "Chow Hang-tung now has an oval face, a long ponytail, and the smile in her eyes is as sunny as the one on her lips. She said she would start a 37-hour hunger strike on June 4."

Chow's Patreon published an article on May 31, stating, "Guarding the memory of June 4th is actually guarding the same bottom line of humanity. When we take one more step according to our conscience, the territory of power will be reduced by one point."

The article also stated that Chow would go on a 37-hour hunger strike on June 4.

Chow, along with former Hong Kong Alliance chairman Lee Cheuk-yan and vice-chairman Albert Ho, has been charged with subversion of state power. They have been in remand since their arrest in September 2021, for over four years. The case concluded its closing arguments in May of this year, and the judge is expected to deliver a verdict in July. (Editor: Chen Kaiyu / Chou Huiying) 1150604
