On the 37th anniversary of June 4th, in addition to Zhao Yingtai's social media post, President Lai Ching-te also posted on Facebook earlier, stating that 37 years ago, what was suppressed by the military was not only the lives and youth of democracy movement participants, but also the entire generation's yearning and practice of freedom and democracy. He called on China to face the June 4th incident, acknowledge the truth, comfort the pain, and open the way for reconciliation and dialogue.
