The Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) announced that the application deadline for the relocation bonus for selected plots in the Taoyuan Aerotropolis will be extended from the end of June to the end of October this year. This is to actively incentivize residents to relocate and smoothly acquire land for the development and construction of the Taoyuan Airport's third runway.

The Taoyuan Aerotropolis is a major national construction project, currently in the stages of zone expropriation works, construction of relocation housing, and land allocation for relocation plots.

The CAA, under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, issued a press release today stating that the Executive Yuan, during its cabinet meeting today, agreed to adjust the application deadline for the 'Accelerated Development Incentive' for residents who selected plots in the airport zone. The deadline is extended from June 30 to October 31 of the same year, on the condition that it does not affect the construction progress of the Taoyuan International Airport's third runway and that the Taoyuan City Government properly plans the building permit issuance procedures beforehand.

The CAA stated that due to the rapid post-pandemic recovery and growth in passenger traffic at Taoyuan International Airport, the third runway construction project has been actively launched to effectively enhance Taiwan's aviation competitiveness. The final relocation deadline for above-ground structures in the Taoyuan Aerotropolis remains the end of this year to avoid hindering the progress of this major national infrastructure project.

The CAA pointed out that considering the similar construction schedules and large scale of self-built houses in the relocation plots, current construction resources are insufficient to meet market demand, affecting the progress of self-construction. Referring to the adjustment of the 'Relocation Plot Assistance Grant' earlier this year, where the completion deadline for the second-floor slab inspection was extended to the end of June, the application period for the 'Accelerated Development Incentive' for those who selected relocation plots has been extended to October 31. This is to actively encourage residents to relocate and smoothly acquire the land needed for the Taoyuan Airport third runway development.

The CAA stated that residents who have selected relocation plots are actively proceeding with their house construction projects. To ensure the smooth subsequent application for building permits, the Executive Yuan has also requested the Taoyuan City Government to properly plan and prepare for the building permit issuance procedures.
