(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 4) Apple today announced that, according to a new study published by economists at Analysis Group, the global App Store ecosystem facilitated over $1.4 trillion in developer billings and sales in 2025, a new all-time high.
In a press release on its website, Apple explained that the App Store ecosystem has nearly tripled in size since 2019. In 2025, over 40 of the top 100 apps on the store page featured consumer-facing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities; these apps also saw higher revenue growth than other top 100 apps.
The App Store serves over 850 million weekly active users across 175 countries and regions, helping developers expand their businesses and reach new customers globally.
Apple noted that AI is becoming an integral part of the app experience on the App Store. From health and fitness apps that use on-device intelligence for personalized recommendations, to photo and video editing apps with AI-powered creative features, and productivity tools that leverage powerful cloud-based AI models to automate complex tasks, the integration of AI into everyday apps is creating new opportunities for developers.
