(Central News Agency reporter Zheng Weizhen, Changhua, June 5) The Changhua County Government held a groundbreaking ceremony today for the Xihu Township Youth Housing Construction Project. With a budget of NT$470 million, the project will build a structure with one underground floor and ten above-ground floors, totaling 76 units. It is expected to be completed by mid-2028. Youth who have been registered in Changhua County for a cumulative total of three years and meet the eligibility criteria can apply.

Changhua County Magistrate Wang Huimei stated at the ceremony that the Xihu Youth Housing is the third youth housing project promoted by the county, following those in Yuanlin City and Shengang Township. The site is located on Hudong Street, near the core living area of Xihu, offering mature living functions. It is adjacent to the Xihu Fruit and Vegetable Market, conveniently meeting daily needs for food, clothing, housing, and transportation. The hope is to provide reasonable and high-quality residential options to help young people stay in Changhua and develop with peace of mind.

She said the base area is approximately 729 ping (about 2,409 square meters), with a total floor area of about 2,228 ping (about 7,365 square meters). The project offers 24 one-bedroom units and 52 two-bedroom units. Youth aged 20 to 45 who have been registered in Changhua County for a cumulative total of three years and meet the relevant qualifications can apply.

The Changhua County Government's Youth Development Office stated that, including the project in Hemei Township, the county government is currently planning four youth housing sites. It will continue to build a comprehensive youth support system to help reduce the housing burden and increase the willingness of young people to stay in or return to the county.
