(Central News Agency, Penghu County, 5th) Lu Chang-tsai took over as the chairperson of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Penghu County Chapter today, emphasizing that providing full support to achieve a clean sweep in the year-end Penghu local elections is the primary task. As for the county magistrate candidate, the chapter will immediately launch its campaign support operations once the central party makes the announcement.

The handover ceremony for the DPP Penghu County Chapter chairperson was held today at the county chapter. Lu Chang-tsai received the seal from the outgoing chairperson, Yen Chia-kang. President Lai Ching-te, who also serves as the DPP chairperson, sent a congratulatory plaque inscribed with 'Rooting Democracy.'

Outgoing chairperson Yen Chia-kang stated that during his two terms, party affairs were carried out smoothly. He particularly noted that in the two elections of 2022 (local) and 2024 (central), the chapter's campaign support in Penghu achieved a 'grand slam' record. He thanked the chapter team and said that after stepping down, he will fully dedicate himself to his campaign for the Magong City Council.

Returning chairperson Lu Chang-tsai stated that the chapter demonstrated teamwork and achieved the best results in the 2022 county and city elections and the 2024 presidential and legislative elections. He said his primary task upon returning to the post is the year-end 'five-in-one' elections. Currently, candidates for county councilors, Magong City mayor, and representatives have been finalized. Yang Chao-wu is expected to represent the party in the run for Huxi Township chief. The only remaining candidate is for county magistrate. Once the central party announces the candidate, the chapter will immediately launch its campaign support operations, hoping to achieve another 'grand slam.' (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150605
