The Fourth Highway Police Brigade of the National Highway Police Bureau stated today that they received a report at 10:40 a.m. about two traffic accidents at the southbound 317.4 km mark on National Highway 1 in Tainan's Yongkang section. Each accident involved three passenger cars, and none of the drivers had been drinking.

A preliminary investigation by the Fourth Highway Police Brigade found that a male driver surnamed Li, driving in the inner lane, rear-ended a car driven by a female driver surnamed Wang, which then pushed into a car driven by a male driver surnamed Dai. No injuries were reported in this incident.

In the second incident, a male driver surnamed Zheng, also driving in the inner lane, rear-ended a car driven by a male driver surnamed Li, which then pushed into a car driven by a female driver surnamed Jian, resulting in 3 people being injured and sent to the hospital.
