(Central News Agency, Penghu County, June 9) The Penghu District Fishermen's Association today signed a "Summer Special Education Student Workplace Experience and Social Integration Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)" with the Penghu Maritime Vocational School, providing low-income special education students with summer work-study opportunities.
Yen Te-fu, Director-General of the Penghu District Fishermen's Association, stated that the aim is to give back social resources to vulnerable groups who truly need help. Today, they signed the cooperation MOU with the Penghu Maritime School to offer paid summer work opportunities for low-income special education students.
Yen Chia-ho, Principal of the National Penghu Senior Maritime Vocational School, expressed gratitude to the Penghu District Fishermen's Association for providing paid work-study opportunities. He noted that this allows special education students to engage with the workplace environment early in their academic journey. Through workplace experience and social integration, the process of applying what they have learned can not only enhance students' independence and self-confidence but also help them smoothly transition to the workplace after graduation, achieving the goal of a seamless connection between campus and society.
