Heavy Rain Warning for Kaohsiung and Pingtung Mountains; Nuclear Safety Commission Tightens Monitoring of Maanshan Nuclear Plant

The Nuclear Safety Commission (NSC) stated today that it has requested Taipower to strengthen flood prevention operations at the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and radioactive material facilities, and will continue to strictly monitor the safety of related facilities.

The NSC announced on its official website that the Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain advisory for the Pingtung County area at 6:30 p.m. on June 8. The NSC has requested Taipower to urge the Maanshan NPP and radioactive material facilities to enhance flood prevention measures and implement various flood prevention operations according to relevant procedures. The NSC will continue to strictly monitor the safety of related facilities.
