An officer from the Changhua Precinct of the Changhua County Police Bureau stated today that rain was incessant in the Changhua area last night. As Mr. Wang was driving his SUV through the intersection of Dongmin Street and Kongmen Road in Changhua City, his vehicle crashed into the Baguashan archway and overturned, landing with all four wheels in the air, likely due to poor visibility from the downpour.
Police noted that officers and firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving a report, rescued Mr. Wang who had suffered abrasions, and sent him to the hospital where he was found to be without serious injury. Officers immediately contacted a towing company to clear the scene to avoid traffic disruption.
Furthermore, another accident occurred this morning on the Provincial Highway 74A expressway in Changhua City. A passenger car driven by a woman surnamed Chen was traveling in the outer lane of the Xiangshan Trail section of the 74A East Outer Ring Road when it overturned, reportedly due to a tire blowout. The woman escaped and was sent to the hospital without serious injury. Officers requested a tow truck to the scene to remove the vehicle from the slow lane to prevent traffic jams.
