(Central News Agency, Dubai, 10th Combined Foreign Reports) A British maritime agency said that an oil tanker's engine room caught fire today off the coast of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz, with reports of two missing and one casualty.

According to AFP, British maritime security company Vanguard Tech earlier stated that the Palau-flagged tanker Settebello "sent a distress signal reporting that its engine room was hit by a missile while operating off Sohar in the Gulf of Oman," causing a fire on board.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) later reported an incident approximately 20 nautical miles northeast of Sohar.

The agency said: "Local authorities report that a tanker's engine room is on fire and are on scene assisting with crew evacuation. The vessel reports one casualty and two crew members missing. There are no reports of environmental impact." (Editor: Ho Hung-ju) 1150610
