(CENTCOM, Washington/Tehran, June 10, Comprehensive Foreign Reports) The U.S. Central Command stated that in response to Iran downing a U.S. Army Apache helicopter, the U.S. military has "completed" retaliatory airstrike operations. Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it has dispatched drones to attack the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.

Agence France-Presse reports that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), responsible for U.S. military operations in the Middle East, posted on the social media platform X that the U.S. military has completed self-defensive airstrikes against Iran.

CENTCOM noted in the post that they "dispatched U.S. Air Force and Navy fighter jets to strike Iranian air defense, ground command facilities, and surveillance radar near the Strait of Hormuz with precision munitions."

A U.S. Army Apache helicopter was shot down off the coast of Oman on the 9th, marking the second manned aircraft lost by the U.S. to Iran in this conflict, following the loss of an F-15 fighter jet in April.

Immediately after the incident, the U.S. military launched airstrikes. According to a statement by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the U.S. retaliatory action struck Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm Island within Iran. The IRGC accused the U.S. military of launching the attack under a "false pretext," which damaged a telecommunications antenna in Sirik and destroyed two water storage tanks in the city.

The statement added that, in response, the Revolutionary Guard launched a drone attack on the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain at 2:30 AM local time on the 10th (23:00 GMT on the 9th).

The statement also warned of a "more severe response" if the attacks continue. (Compiled by: Tsai Chia-Min) 1150610
