Shei-Pa National Park "Sunrise at Xuejian" Mountain Forest Concert: Tickets Open for Two Performances in Taipei and Taichung

The Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters announced on the 10th that it will hold two sessions of the "Sunrise at Xuejian - First Appearing in the Mountains" mountain forest concert and video成果発表会 in Taipei and Taichung this July and August to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the establishment of Shei-Pa National Park. The Taipei performance will be held on July 3rd at the Taipei Cultural and Creative Songyan Eslite Concert Hall, and the Taichung performance will be held on August 1st at the Taichung Xinmin High School Art Center Concert Hall. According to the Headquarters, the documentary "Sunrise at Xuejian," directed by ecological documentary filmmaker Chen Jinfa, features Atayal conservation ranger Chung An-liang as the protagonist, documenting his life journey with his father, the mountains, and nature. The film won the Best Asian Documentary Award at the Global Independent Film Festival in India and recently won the Best Film Award at the International Asian Film Festival in North Carolina, USA. In April of this year, the director was invited to participate in the Ethnographic Film Festival Forum in Paris, France, showcasing the beauty of Taiwan's mountains and the deep emotional connection between indigenous culture and the land to the world.

The two concerts will take the "Sunrise at Xuejian" documentary as a starting point, intertwining images, music, and human narratives to extend the cultural significance embedded in the film. Under the guidance of international violin master Professor Tseng Keng-yuan, violinist Chen Yun-chun and several outstanding young musicians will perform together.

In addition to performing the classic Taiwanese folk song "Four Seasons Red" and Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" violin concerto, the concerts will also feature Atayal conservation rangers Chung An-liang and Kao Chung-an singing a medley of traditional Atayal ancient tunes, presenting the cultural memory and life stories of the national park through different musical forms.

The Headquarters stated that Shei-Pa National Park possesses rich natural ecology and diverse cultural assets, and these precious values come from the long-term guardianship and companionship of countless people. It is hoped that through the "Sunrise at Xuejian - First Appearing in the Mountains" mountain forest concert, more people can rediscover Shei-Pa and see the beautiful scenery of harmonious coexistence between people and the land through images, music, and words.
