(Central News Agency, reporter Huang Xusheng, New Taipei City, 11th) The New Taipei City Government today released the promotional video for the MRT Sanying Line, inviting actress Lei Jia-rui as the spokesperson to introduce the humanities, industries, and tourism features along the line. Mayor Hou Yu-ih stated that the line can open once the Ministry of Transportation and Communications grants the operating permit, which will drive regional development and urban upgrading.

The New Taipei City Government held a press conference today for the release of the Sanying Line promotional video. Mayor Hou Yu-ih stated that the Sanying Line completed its inspection on June 7th. It is expected to officially open around the middle of this year after receiving the operating permit from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, with a one-month free trial ride planned.

Mayor Hou said that detailed plans will be made, and the system will be integrated with TPASS (regular commuter monthly pass) to offer discounted fares. He also plans a series of activities to celebrate the opening of the Sanying Line, including painted trains, a carnival, light sculptures, and performing arts.

Mayor Hou stated that after the Sanying Line opens, it can shorten the commuting time between the Sanying area and Taipei by about 20 minutes, providing safer, more comfortable, and convenient green transportation services. With the MRT Wan-Da Zhonghe Line expected to be completed and opened next year, New Taipei City will continue to promote the "Seven Lines Launched" rail construction, moving towards the goal of connecting Keelung in the north, Taipei in the center, and Taoyuan in the south.

The New Taipei Metro Department said that Lei Jia-rui was invited to be the image spokesperson. Through a series of short films totaling about 6 minutes, she will lead the public to understand the features of the Sanying Line, surrounding attractions, and local culture, showcasing the land revitalization, industrial upgrading, and tourism benefits brought by the metro.

Lei Jia-rui shared that during the filming, she visited Tucheng, Sanxia, and Yingge, gaining an in-depth understanding of local culture and urban vitality. The Sanying Line is not just a transportation infrastructure; it connects city stories and life emotions, allowing people to experience the diverse charm of New Taipei City.

Hong Jia-jun, a New Taipei City councilor from the Kuomintang, told CNA reporters that the Sanying Line connects the locally cherished characteristics of ceramics, indigo dyeing, and tea, creating a new opportunity for local tourism.

Li Chang-jun, the head of Gufang Organic Tea Garden, told CNA that the local community has long awaited this. Combining the metro with packaged tours will transform traditional tea-making techniques into tourism experiences and food and agricultural education. This will allow visitors to deeply experience the tea garden and an environment of coexistence with nature, while also helping to increase the value of local tourism output.
