(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 11) President Lai Ching-te today posted a congratulatory message in English on social media platform X to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has become India's longest-serving elected prime minister. President Lai stated that Taiwan will continue to deepen its partnership with India.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who first took office on May 26, 2014, has become India's longest-serving elected prime minister.
India's previous longest-serving prime minister was Jawaharlal Nehru, who was first elected in 1952 and served continuously for 4,398 days. This record was broken by Modi yesterday.
In his post today, President Lai congratulated Modi on this milestone, saying, "This significant milestone demonstrates the high trust the Indian people have in Prime Minister Modi's leadership."
