(Central News Agency reporter Guo Xuanwen, Hsinchu County 11th) Cheng Chao-fang, the mayor of Zhubei City who was nominated by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to run for Hsinchu County Magistrate, said today that the key to the election lies in whether swing voters and young people are willing to come out and support him.

The DPP's Central Executive Committee yesterday approved the nomination of Cheng Chao-fang to run for Hsinchu County Magistrate, setting up a race against Hsinchu County Magistrate candidate Hsu Hsin-ying of the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT).

Inspecting the Zhubei Fude Library, Cheng said in an interview with the media that he has been diligent and dedicated since taking office as mayor, focusing all his efforts on local construction, policies, and cultural activities. At this stage, he continues to fulfill his mayoral duties as usual. In the future, he will uphold the belief of 'changing Zhubei,' continue the experience of transforming Zhubei, and strive to bring more changes to Hsinchu County.

He said that since announcing his candidacy, he has felt encouragement and support from many people through social media platforms and local visits. This has made him feel that the desire for change in the local area is growing stronger. If he can break through this time, it will be the beginning of a new situation, an opportunity to break away from the past party-centric election thinking and transform Hsinchu County.

Furthermore, Cheng stated that since political workers have the ability to exert influence, they should make the election culture better and stop causing confrontation. (Editor: Li Mingzong) 1150611
