Taiwan Power Company's (Taipower) Changhua District Office stated via a message on the 12th that at 5:49 PM on the 11th, a feeder trip was caused by bird/animal damage to an overhead sectionalizing switch and a malfunction in an underground four-way switch. This resulted in a power outage for 3,871 households in the areas of Taihe Road Section 3, Taihe Road Section 2, Jinma Road, and Taihe Central Street in Changhua City.
