A member of the public posted a video online today, stating that a vehicle had hit a utility pole at an intersection during after-school hours. The video shows the driver appearing disoriented and collapsing limply on the ground, alarming nearby people.

The Sanchong Precinct of the New Taipei City Police Department stated that they received a report around 4 PM about a vehicle self-crashing into a utility pole in the Sanhe Road area, with no injuries. After arriving at the scene, police found that the 44-year-old driver, surnamed Huang, was uninjured and had not affected any surrounding people.

Officers noticed that Mr. Huang's mental state was unstable and administered a saliva screening test. The result was a positive reaction for the Class 3 narcotic Ketamine. Officers arrested Mr. Huang on the spot and took him back to the station for investigation. After questioning, he was transferred to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for public endangerment, and his vehicle was impounded and a ticket was issued according to regulations.
