(Central News Agency, Tokyo, 12th - Combined Foreign News) Live footage showed Japan's flagship H3 rocket launching today, carrying six small satellites.
According to AFP, in December last year, the H3 rocket failed to deliver a geolocation satellite into orbit due to an engine malfunction.
About six minutes after liftoff, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) stated in a YouTube livestream: "Second-stage combustion, attitude control, and flight trajectory are all normal."
JAXA said the satellites aboard the H3 rocket include Umitsubame from Tokyo University of Science, which will use a high-performance camera to observe Earth and other targets, and the Shiraito satellite from Shizuoka University, which will test space debris capture technology.
