Hsinchu County Police Day Honors Outstanding Officers; Bureau Chief Continues Reward System to Boost Morale

(Central News Agency reporter Guo Xuanwen, Hsinchu County, 12th) The Hsinchu County Police Bureau held a Police Day celebration today. County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke presented awards to outstanding police officers. Bureau Chief Lin Chien-lung stated that since taking office last August, he has issued over NT$2.8 million in bonuses to police officers and will continue to use the reward mechanism to boost team morale.

The Hsinchu County Police Bureau held a Police Day celebration and a Police Day garden party today. The bureau stated that it hopes to allow police officers and auxiliary civilian personnel, who are usually burdened with duties, to enjoy happy moments with their families, making Police Day more meaningful.

Today, Magistrate Yang Wen-ke presented awards to outstanding police officers. Among them, Detective Zhang Yu-jia of the Juvenile Police Unit and Detective Huang Jun-wei of the Jhudong Precinct were selected as Model Police Officers for the bureau. Additionally, Detective Huang Zheng-ming of the Sinpu Precinct and Forensic Officer Huang Shih-hsiang were selected as Criminal Investigation Models; Detective Huang Jing-wei and Detective Zheng Chao-yuan of the Criminal Investigation Brigade were also recognized.

Magistrate Yang Wen-ke said in a media interview that over the past year, the police have apprehended 417 suspects in fraud and other cases, and successfully intercepted over NT$130 million in fraudulent funds, effectively protecting public property. He affirmed the officers' hard work in maintaining public order and traffic safety through the Police Day commendation event.

Bureau Chief Lin Chien-lung said in a media interview that police officers are long-term engaged in maintaining public order, combating fraud, drug enforcement, and traffic law enforcement, bearing heavy work pressure. To substantially encourage outstanding officers, with the support of civilian groups like the Police Friends Association, a total of approximately NT$2.8 million in investigation and performance bonuses have been distributed since last August.

He pointed out that the reward mechanism will continue in the future to enhance team morale, ensuring that officers who perform their duties diligently and achieve excellent results receive substantial encouragement, serving as a backbone for frontline police. (Editor: Zhang Mingkun) 1150612
